Seven women who had children with them and three women who were pregnant had to sleep rough.

For the past year, Women’s Aid has been working with women who have difficulties accessing a refuge through the No Woman Turned Away Project (NWTA).

The project was commissioned by the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG).

And the report which comes at the end of the first year of the project shows that there is a systemic failure by statutory agencies when it comes to responding to the needs of the most vulnerable survivors of domestic abuse.
