Iran Human Rights, March 16: One prisoner was hanged in the prison of Semnan (Northern Iran) early this morning.

The official website of the Iranian Judiciary in Semnan reported that the prisoner, identified as “H. P.” son of Mohammadreza, was convicted of murder.

There has been a dramatic increase in the number of implemented death sentences for murder charges in Iran.

According to the “Annual Report on the Death Penalty in Iran-2013“, the number of executions for murder charges in 2013 were eight times higher than the numbers in 2012.
